The Piapro Software does come with an auto updater, though the updater is limited to only updating to its API version, meaning a VOCALOID3 API will never update to VOCALOID4 API. So if the user wants to use VOCALOID4 functions with Piapro Studio, they need to update it to the VOCALOID4 API. The V3 vocals have the VOCALOID3 API, so they are unable to utilize any new functions of VOCALOID4 with just the older API. Many functions of VOCALOID3 or VOCALOID4 engine can be referenced for use in Piapro Studio such as XSY because of this, though some functions such as the VOCALOID3 or VOCALOID4 Job Plug-ins may be unable to be used in Piapro Studio. ![]() The VOCALOID4 API version is officially referred to as "Piapro Studio Vers. The original version of Piapro Studio comes with the VOCALOID3 API and is referred to as "Piapro Studio Vers.1" or "Piapro Studio". This is the same as Unity with VOCALOID, which also uses a version of the VOCALOID engine in the form of VOCALOID SDK. Piapro Studio uses the VOCALOID API, meaning it uses the essentials of the VOCALOID engine itself without its OS layout. Its is currently available in both Japanese and English.ĭifferences between VOCALOID and Piapro Studio The only VST the version of Studio One supports is Piapro Studio. Ī PreSonus Studio One Artist edition is also available with 4 virtual instruments supplied: Presence, SampleOne, Mojito and Impact. The standalone versions are much more dedicated to the vocals than the plug-in version and is a independent DAW. The standalone version is dedicated to the Chinese vocal, though further updates were planned by Crypton for the V4X range. The standalone currently appears with Hatsune Miku V4 Chinese which was the first vocal to include this. The plug-in version allows Piapro Studio to appear in DAWs like Studio One or as a separate version. It exists as a Plug-in (VSTi) and Standalone editor, though some VOCALOIDs may be restricted to which version they can appear in. It can support multiple tracks, VSQx saving and also has a plug-in. It is included in their releases instead of the full version of the VOCALOID Editor and acts as an alternative the latter. Piapro Studio has been included with all Crypton Future Media VOCALOID releases since VOCALOID3. If the song is popular enough, you can most likely find one to download and try out (but always give the person credit if you upload your own cover using it!) If you want those, you can look up on Youtube " VSQx" and see what comes up. ![]() The current V5 editor can read only VSQx and VPR files, It's the sequence of notes that the VOCALOID sings in the song. VSQ/VSQx/VPR refers to the VOCALOID project file. VST is virtual studio technology aka does audio effects and editing virtually instead of using a physical piece of equipment. I'm admittedly a bit confused with the other part of your question. If you're making a cover, and the instrumental is already made you can do your mixing in the VOCALOID editor. You can do mixing on the VOCALOID editor itself or in a DAW, whichever you prefer. At the bare minimum you will adjust the volume of these tracks individually so that they sound good all together. You will have the instrumental, the main melody, and then additionally can have backing vocals and harmonies as separate tracks. When you have a song, even a cover, you will have multiple tracks. Typically, mixing is referring to the blending, or mixing (see what I did there? lol) of the various tracks in song so that they seamlessly blend as one. "Mixing" can refer to making remixes, but usually people will just say "remix" for those. ![]()
